The workshop "Italian testing region for earthquake prediction/forecasting experiments" will be held in Rome (INGV - Via di Vigna Murata 605) 27-28 October 2008.

The workshop has two primary goals:

• to introduce the "Italian testing region"  for CSEP (Collaboratory for the study of Earthquake Predictability) initiatives, i.e., for evaluating earthquake forecasting models. The natural laboratory is described by one region for testing, one for collecting data, and the authorized source of seismic data.

• to invite all interested people that want to check their forecasting model to submit their model for the experiment.

The preliminary program is reported below. Note that some speakers have still to be defined. More important, anyone interested in presenting an earthquake forecasting model to be submitted for evaluation should contact Warner Marzocchi as soon as possible by email or by phone (Tel.: +39 06-51860589, Cellphone: +39 335-349759). There is no limit to the number of models that can be tested.

At the end of the meeting, a document with all receipts for submitting a forecasting/prediction model will be prepared and distributed to all interested people.
